T-Mobile US Inc (NASDAQ:TMUS) shares were climbing in early trading on Thursday, after the company announced strong third-quarter results.

Oppenheimer On T-Mobile US

Analyst Timothy Horan maintained an Outperform rating, while lifting the price target from $215 to $250.

T-Mobile US reported revenues of $20.2 billion, up 4.7% and beating expectations by 120 basis points (bps), Horan said. The company generated “industry-leading” service revenue growth of 5.1%, driven by the highest ARPA (postpaid average revenue per account) growth in seven years and higher-than-expected postpaid phone net additions, he added.  

The company’s postpaid phone net additions of 865,000, which came in 65,000 higher than the estimate, was more than that of Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ) and AT&T Inc (NYSE:T) combined, the analyst stated. The company is on track for around 3 million phone adds this year, he further mentioned.

Scotiabank On T-Mobile US

Analyst Maher Yaghi reiterated a Sector Perform rating while raising the price target from $236 to $237.

“T-Mobile reported another strong quarter with continued industry-leading subscriber growth coupled with stringent focus on operating costs leading to a slight beat on EBITDA which supported another guidance increase,” Yaghi wrote in a note.
